Zimin Foundation is participating in the Boris Nemtsov scholarship program at Charles University

Five scholarships are sponsored by four organizations

The Boris Nemtsov Scholarship is a two-year, full-time Master’s program with the Social Sciences Department of Charles University. It is a bilingual program, offered in both Russian and English, that allows students to create a flexible curriculum by choosing from a wide selection of courses available in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Sciences. The program focuses on comprehensive studies of post-Soviet Russia and the CIS, including politics, economics, media, society, culture, and identity.


Five scholarships are sponsored by four organizations:
- The Zimin Foundation
- Rosa Luxemburg Foundation
- Prague Society for International Cooperation
- Boris Nemtsov’s Center of Russian Studies


The scholarship is provided for one year in the amount of €1,000 per month. The annual cost of the program is 140,000 CZK, which is approximately €5,600.
The requirements to participate in the competition are as follows:

- a high score on the entrance examination (up to 100 points)
- a written description of your financial situation (in free form), including current income and expenses, and an explanation of why you cannot afford to pay for your education


About the Russian Studies program:


Russian Studies is a two-year, in-person Master’s program offered in partnership with the Social Sciences Department of Charles University, Prague. It is a bilingual program, conducted in Russian and English, allowing students to build a flexible curriculum by choosing from a wide selection of courses available in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Sciences. The program focuses on in-depth studies of post-Soviet Russia and the CIS, including politics, economics, media, society, culture, and identity.

The program collaborates with Stanford University through the SURF initiative (Stanford U.S.–Russia Forum): a joint research and exchange project that enables postgraduate students to explore shared topics with American students in a hybrid format (online and live conferences).

Students may also take part in Erasmus+ exchange programs and spend a semester at one of the partner universities:
Sciences Po (Paris)
Bard College Berlin
Ruhr-Universität Bochum
