Book projects of Dmitry Zimin

In order to restore interest in educational literature on the part of both readers and publishers, in 2006 Dmitry Zimin decided to publish popular science bestsellers from around the world in Russian. More than 100 of the best non-fiction books were translated into Russian and published in Russia.

The idea to publish modern non-fiction books for Russian readers arose in 2006. At that time, there was hardly any popular science literature – in Russian or in translation – on the shelves of bookstores in Russia. At that point, the Zimin Foundation in cooperation with several publishing houses launched a search for experts, scientific editors and translators, as well as for the financial support needed to publish the books, the first of which appeared in 2007. The Foundation’s partnership with these publishers resulted in the publication of a series of non-fiction books.
